About our company

Computer Studio 'Mart' is a non-profit multi-functional company founded in 1993 for innovative projects based on computer technologies.

Basing on long-term experience in information systems and project management the Studio initiated multimedia and Internet projects for educational and cultural institutions in St. Petersburg, Moscow and other regions of Russia. The Studio is recognized as one of the most advanced multimedia developers in St. Petersburg.

Staff: 12 full-time employees and involved part-time experts.
Management: art director, executive director, chief editor.
Art group: 3 full time professional artists.
Technical group: multimedia developers, programmers, engineers, computer designers.
The majority of the staff is working as a team since 1997.

The Studio is the winner of a number of Russia-wide contests, including the following: "Anigraph-Content 2001", "Content-2002", "Content-2003", "Content-2004", "Content-2005" and "St.Petersburg Book Store 2001".

On a delegation from St. Petersburg the Studio representatives participated in opening of a Russian Museum virtual affiliate in Baku. The Studio held master-classes on multimedia technologies for different museums in Azerbaijan.

An electronic catalogue on CD-ROM based on exhibition "An Artist and the Time" was issued. The catalogue was performed on request of the State Historical Museum of Russia in view of opening of the exhibition.

A set of two CD-ROMs on Yakut national art was issued. The set contains "Yakut Art", the program performed on request of the National art museum of Sakha Republic (Yakutia), and the film "Olonkho", made for the Russian Museum affiliate network.

The Studio representative made a report at EVA-Moscow 2007 international conference on "Dimensional Arts", an innovative tutorial complex for secondary school students.

The Studio representatives made a speech in a workshop "The Russian Museum: virtual affiliate" web-portal. Representatives of the Russian Museum virtual affiliates from different cities and towns of Russia participated in the workshop.

In Kotka (Finland) a Russian Museum virtual affiliate was opened. Several programs of the Studio were translated into Finnish. Among them are: "The Russian Museum. Electronic catalogue", "Kalevala" and a CD game ComputerPuzzle "Masterpieces of the Russian Museum".

An electronic album "Ivan Shishkin" was performed on request of the State Tretiakov Gallery. A CD version is timed to the personal exhibition of the artist.

As part of opening of the Russian Museum virtual affiliate in Krasnodar (Russia) the Studio presented its new multimedia program "Catherine's gift to Russia".

Three schools in the Republic of Karelia received for approbation a tutorial package "Dimensional Arts", which was worked out by the Studio as part of the project "Informational support for educational systems". In this context an introductory workshop was held in St. Petersburg for school counselors and teachers on world art, visual art and regional ethnography. The workshop was attended by teachers from Petrozavodsk and Kostomuksha (Russia) who are supposed to work with the new tutorial complex.

As a part of opening of the Russian Museum virtual affiliate in Barnaul (Russia) a multimedia program "Altai region in works of Art" was performed by the Studio.

The Studio worked out different elements of information system for the new exhibition in the Grand palace of Catherine II in Tsaritsino museum and reserve. That is an information kiosk presenting temporary exhibitions, which are held in the Grand palace and the Bread house, and a computer film for "Archeology" section.

Three schools in Chelyabinsk region received for approbation a tutorial package "Music and computer technology", which was worked out by the Studio as a part of a project "Informational support for educational systems". In this respect an introductory seminary was held in Chelyabinsk for teachers and school counselors.

As a part of opening of a Russian Museum virtual affiliate a presentation of a program took place in Kirov (Russia), the hometown of artists brothers Viktor and Apollinari Vasnetsovs. The program is dedicated to the two outstanding Russian artists.

The two-year work on the great multimedia project devoted to the history of the Jewish autonomous regions formation in the USSR in 1921-1938 has been accomplished. The project was realized on demand of World ORT together with a number of organizations in St. Petersburg. It includes a photo album "The Hope and the Illusion", multimedia application "We Live in Our Own Country", and the Internet site "ORT-OZET".

At the annual contest "Content - 2006", in the context of the Children festival of computer work, Studio "Mart" won the special prize - "Magic Mouse" - for the computer program "Working Days and Festivals of the Russian People" developed by request of the museum in the open air "Ryazan's Kremlin".

The State Russian Museum held the presentation in Beijing where the Chinese version of the program "The State Russian Museum. Electronic Catalogue" was represented. The program was developed by request of the Russian museum.

In view of the opening the virtual department of the Russian museum in Yakutsk, Studio "Mart" represented its new computer film created after the paintings of the Yakutsk artists illustrating the folk epic "Olonkho".

Our studio started its work on creating the training aids of a new generation for the secondary schools according to the project Computerization of the Educational System to be realized by the National Fund of the Personnel Training.

By reguest of the museum in the open air "Tsaritsyno", the multumedia film " Matvey Kazakov's Large Palace" was carried out. This film represents the next part of the content of the new exhibition opened in 2004.

In collaboration with the Russian Museum of Ethnography the new electron album "The Images of a Nation" was prodused. It represents the virtual version of the exhibition, devoted to the Jewish culture, which took place in the museum last year.

Studio "Mart" displayed two electron albums: "The Artists of the Imperial Theaters. Opera" and "B.L.Pasternak" (as a supplement to the complete set of works in 11 volumes) for the annual All-Russia multimedia competition "Content-2005". The program dedicated to B.Pasternak has won the first prize in nomination "References and Albums" and CD-ROM named "The Artists of the Imperial Theaters. Opera" was awarded a special prize.

Yakutsk Art Museum exposes the new exhibition with attendant information kiosk, where the multimedia program developed by our studio is used.

In the House of Journalists, in the Museum of Anna Akhmatova, and at the broadcast station "Echo of St Petersburg", a series of presentations was held with the participation of some employees of the studio. There, the complete set of works by B.Pasternak, released by publishing house "Slovo", and the attendant multimedia CD-ROM, executed by the studio, were presented.

Employees of the studio took part in the seminar held by UNESCO on problem of training the museum workers of Gergia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan to apply the achievements of multimedia technique to the museum business.

In St. Petersburg gymnasium under the patronage of the State Russian Museum, the new educational multimedia program named "Art-practice" developed by the Studio "Mart" was presented. This program, based on the exhibits of Ludvig's collection from the Russian Museum, get us aquainted with the Art of the second half of the 20th century .

At the Moscow International Book Fair, the publishing house "Slovo" exposed Boris Pasternak's complete set of works in 11 volumes with the multimedia application on CD ROM executed by Studio "Mart".

By request of St. Petersburg department of the Northern Countries Council of Minister, the Studio "Mart" produced the set of illustrations for the jubilee album devoted to the decade of the Council activity in Russia.

At the annual conference on modern computer technologies that took place in Kazan, the Studio employees held the master-class "Multimedia Projects: our experience in collaboration with the museums".

The mulimedia project "The Artists of the Imperial Theaters. Opera" has been completed. This project represents the post cards form the collection of the St. Petersburg Museum of History. The set of two CD-ROMs contains about 500 photograghs of the stars of Russian opera, their biographies, and archives phonograms.

The new disk "Art Nouveau in St. Petersburg", representing the collection of St. Petersburg Museum of History, was produced. This program was developed by the Studio "Mart" in 2001. It was demonstrated in the museum. Now this program "Art Nouveau in St. Petersburg" is available in disk formate.

The disk "Alexei Petrovich Bogoliubov" created according to the order of Radishcheve Art Museum in Saratov now is being distributed in Russian and English version.

The new exposition was opened in Moscow museum in Tsaritsyno. At this exposition the new computer program developed by the Studio "Mart" was presented. This program includes computer films "The Tsaritsyno of Vasily Bazhenov", "The Mistery of Catherine" and the information kiosk. All these products are based on the 3D virtual reconstruction of 17 buildings comprising the XVIII century palace ensemble.

The State Art Museum of Karelia Republic was equipped with an information kiosk. It represents the new program performed on request of the Russian Museum. It is a part of the project "Russia" and named "Karelian-Finnish Epos – "Kalevala" – in collections of the State Art Museum of Karelia Republic and the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg.

The international education institution World ORT reissued disks on Jewish history: "Jews in St. Petersburg. Three Centuries of History" (3-rd edition) and "Jewish World in Postcards" (2-nd edition). They will be distributed outside Russia.

The Studio was officially informed by the F@imp.2002 festival, that the disk "Jews in St. Petersburg. Three Centuries of History" had won a prize in a CD-ROM contest. 11 out of 24 participants got prizes. Our disk was the only Russian disc in the category, with Museums of France becoming the first winner.

By the initiative of St. Petersburg Teachers Training University, the Studio employees held the workshop "Interactive Technologies in the Classroom". The Studio presented its multimedia products and explaned their use at schools. Teachers of various subjects expressed their interest in the workshop.

The Studio participated in a joint Russia-Estonia project dedicated to cultural tourism in Narva region. The Studio employees made presentations "Information Support of Cultural Tourism" in workshopsthe held in Narva and Ivangorod.

The Studio employees held a master-class on multimedia technologies in cultural institutions. The products of the Studio were presented as examples of different museum projects, and the issues of organizing interaction among culture experts and developers were explicated. Representatives of museums from Samara, Saratov, Novosibirsk and other Russian cities participated in the master-class, welcomed by the Studio.

The international EVA conference contest "Content-2002" was a success for the Studio. The disk "From Impressionists to Picasso" has won both the contest Grand Prix and a special prize from the Ministry of Culture as the best CD in culture and arts. The disk "For our Happy Childhood" has won a special jury prize "My Homeland". The disk "Jewish World in Postcards" has become a winner.

The conference was held in the Saratov State Art museum named after A.N.Radischev (Saratov). Tthe disk "For our Happy Childhood" was presented at the conference.
